Buying advice in a nutshell

• Calculate your borrowing capacity so you know how much you have to spend.
  Speak to an independent financial or mortgage advisor and shop around for the best mortgage deal.
  
• Decide where you want to buy then register with Lindsay Fyfe & Company. We’ll get moving immediately and contact you when a suitable property comes on the market.
  
• If you are not a first time buyer get your existing home on the market - you cannot usually enter into an agreement on another home until your own has been agreed.
  
• When you find a house you like, visit it a couple of times at different times of the day.
  
• When you are ready to make an offer speak to the estate agent selling the house, not to the vendor.
  
• If your offer is accepted a contract of sale will be issued to your solicitors who will take you through the legal aspects of sealing the deal.
